Vikas Khanchandani, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Republic TV in the Rigged Ratings Case reached the Mumbai Crime Branch office on Sunday in the TV rating. He is being questioned in this matter. Earlier, Mumbai Police had summoned Vikas Khanchandani in the case. At the same time, Republic TV CFO Shiv Subramanian Sundaram has asked for more time to appear.
Republic TV chief finance officer Shiv Subramanian Sundaram said on Saturday that his appointments are already scheduled by October 16. Therefore, he has requested to give another date. On the other hand, he also approached the Supreme Court in this case. He has filed a petition in the apex court on Saturday and demanded to hear the case soon. The Mumbai Police summons has also been challenged in the petition.
The matter was disclosed by the Mumbai Police at a press conference on Thursday and it was said that a complaint was received against three channels, including the name of Republic TV. The officials had said that it is being investigated that the channel paid viewers money to increase its ratings so that it can earn more revenue from advertising.
The Mumbai Police Commissioner had claimed that the owners of two smaller channels, Fakt Marathi and Box Cinema, have been arrested and Republic TV is under investigation.
