The Maharashtra government has told the Supreme Court that it would not be practically appropriate to allow the Nanded Gurdwara to take out a traditional Dussehra procession amid the Corona epidemic. To prevent the spread of the corona virus, it has been decided not to allow any religious events.
Maharashtra government said- it is impossible to strictly enforce restrictions and conditions
The state government has also said in its affidavit that it is impossible to strictly implement the restrictions and conditions in view of old experiences. A bench of Justice L Nageswara Rao is likely to hear the petition on Monday.
Government informed Supreme Court about the situation in Nanded from Corona
On 16 October, the bench sought a reply from the Maharashtra government on a petition by the Nanded Sikh Gurdwara Sachkhand Shri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib Board. The state government has also informed about the situation in Nanded from Corona.
Government said- Restrictions imposed on religious events due to Corona epidemic
- The state government has said that restrictions were imposed in March this year to prevent the epidemic. Everybody is following it. Festivals like Gudi Padwa, Ram Navami, Mahavir Jayanti, Easter Sunday, Buddha Purnima, Eid, Bakrid, Muharram and Navratri were also not allowed to be celebrated.
