People from 14 countries have negative attitude towards China: Survey on China

The American Research Center Pew has conducted a survey on China in 14 countries of the world and its surprising results have come out. Surveys were conducted in the United States, Australia, Britain, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, South Korea, Spain and Canada. According to the survey, negative perceptions towards China have reached the highest level.

How did they survey

Pew conducted this survey from 10 June to 3 August 2020 and his opinion was taken on the phone from the people involved in the survey. The survey focused on the corona virus. 14,276 adult people from 14 countries participated in this survey.

Corona virus effect?

The results of the survey came at a time when the whole world is dealing with the corona virus and millions of people have lost their lives. Kovid-19 is spread all over the world from the Chinese city of Wuhan itself. In the US presidential election, China is a big issue regarding foreign policy.

 

What does the survey say

According to Pew, 61 percent of the people in the 14 countries surveyed said that China handled the corona virus epidemic poorly and 37 percent of people believed that China had done well for the epidemic. At the same time, when people were asked about the handling of the epidemic by the US, 84 percent people said that they handled the epidemic in a bad way.

Do not trust Xi Jinping!

Those involved in the survey have not expressed confidence in Chinese President Xi Jinping. In the survey, the credibility of the President of China also appears to be discounted. 78 percent of the people involved in the survey said that they do not trust Jinping to work properly in world affairs. Among those who kept a positive view on China’s response to Corona, more than four out of 10 people did not trust Xi.

Increased negative outlook in Australia
According to Pew’s survey, Australia has seen the biggest increase in negative attitude towards China. 81 per cent of people in Australia said they had an unfavorable attitude towards China, an increase of 24 per cent over the previous year. Australia has been accusing China of spreading the Corona virus and has raised demands for international investigation.

 

What is the opinion of other countries

Not only the Corona virus, China’s relations with neighboring countries have deteriorated in recent years. According to Pew’s survey, people with unfavorable attitudes towards China were 74 percent in the UK (19 percent higher than last year), 71 percent in Germany (15 percent more than this) and 73 percent in the US (also 13 per cent increase has been registered over the previous year).
